We chose to complete the entirety of this project in Modo – from inception to final render. This was a decision that largely fell to me as I would be doing all the scene exchange, lookdev, lighting and rendering. The scenes were animated in Maya, which I had to manually exchange using a combination of .FBX and .alembic where appropriate because Modo’s IO is not great and the scene was set up in Maya without a proper layout. I then lookdeved, lit and rendered everything while doing some preliminary comp work to ensure that all passes were usable.
